Finally! Vacation Photos!

We traveled from the mountains of Sun Valley to the Oregon Coast in less than 8 hours and Evan was a great little trooper.
In preparation for vacation, Evan puts on the shades.
Oregon Coast

Evan loved playing in the sand even though it was pretty cold.

Beach exploration.

Evan takes a ride on Aunt Jana.
Walking through the park, the house in the background was our vacation rental,
and this is the view of the Siletz Bay from the deck. At high tide the low areas are covered with water. Sea Lions lounge on the sand bar across the bay.

Cousins (Evan's 3rd cousins) roasting marshmellows.Everyone.My favorite spot on the Oregon Coast...Oswald West State Park...The Oregon rainforest meets an amazing seaside alcove. (The beach pictures are above.)
Tillamook Air Museum.
We drove up the coast to see Donna and stayed at the Cannery Pier Hotel which is built on the hundred year old pilings of an old fish cannery. The vast expanse of water where the Columbia River meets the ocean lies on the other side of the hotel. From our balcany we watched huge ships coming in to port. At night you can hear the foghorns and see the lights of the ships as they pass the hotel. Maritime museam, Astoria, Oregon.
Willamette Park, Portland, OR.

Evan takes his first horseback ride and likes it!
In fact, he wanted to stay on the horse and wasn't ready to get off.

We took a "tractor" ride around the farm.Downtown Portland

Wagon!!

These days it seems as if Evan's life revolves around his little red wagon. "Way-on rye", translated "wagon ride", has become his favorite phrase. One evening before bed I told Evan that it was time to say night night to the wagon and what ensued was a fit of sobs. All trips into town involve me tugging the wagon with Evan happily taking in the surroundings. Essentially I have become Evan's Wagon Wench.

Evan loves to go the park and throw rocks onto the slide. Here Justin is placing the rocks at the top of the slide and letting them slide all the way down to the bottom which is making Evan VERY excited!Trip down the slide with dad.Evan and I spent some time down at Centennial Park where Justin was manning the International Migratory Bird Day Booths. It was an amazing day out.
Evan is always busy carrying something around.

Hanging out.
For Mother's Day we went to Lucy Strickers Homestead for a picnic lunch, we listened to Blue Grass music and wondered around the park. Here Milo's grandma is two fisting the babies.

Busy carrying stuff around.
Evan's famous sideways grin.
