Still very proud of his ability to feed himself peas (sort-of), Evan got the opportunity to show off in front of his uncle Jon recently.

Camping with friends

Here are the pics from our camping trip on the south fork of the Boise River. Evan had a great time hanging out with Reese, Allyson, and Greg. He also had acquired an affinity for wearing Carhartt's! After roughing it in the wilderness (one night) we treated ourselves to some greasy food and milk shakes for the trip home.

Grandma Gena Visits Kimberly

Hello All! Grandma Gena came to visit us from Oregon City and we got to do lots of fun stuff. We went swimming at Miracle Hot Springs and Evan enjoyed splashing and kicking around in the warm pool.

We tried to take a hike every evening. We went to the infamous Shoshone Falls, (if you come visit us we will probably take you there too!) and hiked up the viewpoint trail during the sunset. Gorgeous!!

We spent one evening at Cauldron Linn on the Snake River pictured below. And another evening at Harrington Fork in the Rock Creek Canyon area.

Mom hikes the rocks at Cauldron Linn.

We've had lots of little visitors to our hummingbird feeder. Justin caught one on digital.
We went to Julie and Robert Randall's house so that Justin could band the rehabilited birds before they venture back into the wild. While we were there Evan got to meet Captain. They were quite intrigued by each other.

One of the banded Swainson's Hawks just after release back into the wild. Obviously, it hadn't gone far yet.
A leisurely day for Evan. His favorite book..his favorite chair. Sorry the pictures are so blurry. I can't tell if its me or the camera!

Whirlwind Trip to Boise

Evan and I drove to Boise to pick up his Grandma Gena and we jam packed our schedule with fun things to do... I had my first "ladies night out" while Evan got to enjoy some time with his Grandma and Grandpa Barrett. The next morning we woke up at the crack of dawn to get to the airport. Straight from the airport we headed to the berry ranch where we met friends Allyson, Kristin and baby Reese for a blackberry picking adventure.
Grammy Gena got to wear Evan on her back so mommy could pick berries more efficiently. They tooled around and visited the various farm animals. Evan thought the sheep sounds were really strange.
After berry picking we headed into Boise so that I could go to a meeting at the hospital. The tire on our stroller/jogger went flat on the way to the meeting and Grammy Gena had to stroll around with Evan for 2 hours with a flat tire!! I couldn't help chuckling to myself during the meeting envisioning the two of them wobbling around Boise.
Evan's helping me shop. (he knows his mothers wardrobe is lame!!)

We met Lulu downtown for dinner at Pollo Rey. A great band was playing across the street. In the above picture Lulu is teaching Evan how to headbang to the music and he just couldn't get enough...he thought Lulu was the bomb!!!

A nice refreshing break in the Rock Creek! Evan is fascinated with water.

We took a very nice (but hot) hike in the south hills this past weekend.
